I’d like you all to base your contributions on your own experiences with being “taught” gender. When considering the “nature/nurture” aspects of gender, remember that “nurture” refers to specific socialization and the acquisition of learned behaviors. Social prescriptions are imprinted upon us concerning expectations of how we are to present and conduct ourselves, roles we are expected to assume and/or fulfill, based upon our biological sex.
