Texts and Textuality Assignment
Several of the theorists we have read have created binaries, spectrums, or linear movements. For Barthes, it’s the shift from work to text. For McKenzie, it’s the difference between bibliography as “marks on paper” to a “sociology of texts.” And for Drucker, it’s the consideration of a text as an entity versus an event. What do each of these different spectrums or shifts in understanding afford, and what do they occlude? Compare and contrast them with each other. Then, make a judgment regarding which one is most useful for thinking about texts and textuality; explain in detail. Support your answer using evidence from the readings
