Health care providers design educational programs to clearly articulate objectives to engage both patients and families by having clear and measurable objectives. The use of action verbs assist if an objective is measurable. An objective is measurable when a patient can perform a task. for example, a patient will verbalize two medications that treat diabetes. The action verb should correspond with the information given to the patient, for example, if a lecture was given then the participant should be able to verbalize…an example, or if it was hands on the participant should be able to demonstrate correct use of… when the participant puts value in learning then learning becomes second nature.
